We left Weipa and headed to Punsand Bay, staying overnight on Canal Creek, via Scrubby Creek and the OT. Canal Creek makes up one of the many picturesque creeks on the Old Tele Line Track and is a free camp spot a stones throw north of the iconic Eliot Falls!
The photo to the right shows how destructive the wet can be on the landscape
Scrubby Creek splash down! Bonnet wash on this one. Stay left heading north.
Yeah both falls, Eliot and Fruitbat are a must and would be a great adventure on their own. We met people that just came up to camp there and explore the falls. Fruitbat is doable in two wheel drive with a little clearance now. To camp at Eliot you should pre book a permit, though Canal and Birdy Creeks are the best spots to free camp and watch some creek action. Little Nikon = Fun
Looks like you are giving the little nikon a work out!! Some great scenery up there and the pics from it look pretty good to.
