1st night at Punsand Bay, we met the chef at the Corrugation Bar and he didn't need to do much convincing... Barra and Prawns for dinner!

This sign below marked a shortcut track from Punsand Bay to the tip though provided a little suprise due to recent rain!
Hmmm STUCK! Should have gone right... But look at that nice big tree ahead...Winch time!!
Winched out in around 5min. Was a real mud bog.
Another creek crossing, great wetlands to drive through. This was the last one to navigate.
We made the main road to the tip and pulled into the pajinka Resort Ruins to take a look.
After the locals took over it went to ruins, still, the bar was open :)
After Pajinka it's a little further via some nice rain forest to the top!
Stone pyramids mark the way. We finished this one off!
WE MADE IT... YAY!!!
Destination Reached
Great work mate! Glad to see you got to use the winch!
ReplyDeleteThx man, I must say looking back it was the adventure getting there and the people you meet that would draw me back to that region, the tip it self is like well yep we are here, we have done it... now lets get back to some of those creeks!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, If anyone is thinking of doing this trip then plan to do it within the next 5 or so yrs because I reckon it will be black top all the way within a decade, and who knows how long the Old Tele track will be a viable play ground given the nanny state we live in!
Our next post will be some of the places we have visited making our way back home including Somerset, 5 beaches, fruitbat falls and others.
And yes, justified the winch purchase for for sure, someone was very relieved as the ute was being pulled up and out of a big black bog hole!
